To carry forward the noble family ethos of ancestor Yu Jing, who advocated virtue and education, and to uphold the Yu clan’s time-honored tradition of nurturing talents and supporting needy students, representatives from the Shaoguan Yu Jing Memorial Hall were invited to Yunan County, Yunfu City, from August 22 to 23, 2026. They participated in the scholarship and grant program organized by the Liantan Fengcai Education Foundation, strengthening clan solidarity and fostering young talents through heartfelt charitable deeds.

Under the arrangement of Yu Jianxiong, President of the Shaoguan Yu Jing Memorial Hall, four directors — Yu Xinxing, Yu Zhifa, Yu Guofang and Yu Xinfa — traveled to Liantan on behalf of the clan to join the public welfare initiative and celebrate the noble cause of talent cultivation.

On the morning of August 22, the 2026 Scholarship and Grant Award Ceremony of the Liantan Fengcai Education Foundation was grandly held at the Fangyou Yu Ancestral Hall in Cushi Village, Dongba Town, Yunan County. The ancient ancestral hall stands solemn and stately, embodying a profound cultural heritage and a long-standing atmosphere of respecting education and valuing scholars, which deeply influenced every clansman and student present.

At the ceremony, Yu Xinxing and Yu Zhifa delivered speeches on behalf of the Shaoguan Yu Jing Memorial Hall. With sincere and encouraging words, they urged young students of the Yu clan to study diligently, uphold moral integrity, cherish their youth, and pursue their dreams steadfastly. Afterwards, clan representatives together with local senior clansmen presented scholarships, grants and honorary certificates to outstanding and disadvantaged students, paving the way for their academic pursuits.

Following the award ceremony, the delegation embarked on a cultural study tour. On the afternoon of August 22, the group visited the Fangxuan Yu Ancestral Hall in Taishan Village, Xiba, Liantan Town. They appreciated the profound cultural accumulation of the ancient hall and understood the ancestral philosophy of prioritizing education, cultivating virtue and passing down fine family traditions.

On the morning of August 23, the delegation paid a visit to Liantan Fengcai Hall. Founded in the early Republic of China, this time-honored cultural venue of the clan has long been committed to clan education and talent cultivation. After enduring years of vicissitudes, it was renovated with joint donations from clan members, Dihai Fengcai Hall and the Fengcai Monthly Press. Restored to a new glow, it continues to inherit the ancestral spirit and carry forward the clan’s cultural heritage.
